Grief Support Group

St. John’s is exploring the idea of starting a grief support group. Many have experienced the loss of someone close to them, dealing with the feelings and situation is sometimes very difficult. If you would be interested in joining this group, please contact the church office, Cindy Powlus, or Loreen Comstock. We anticipate that this group will be very informal and a chance for everyone to share.

UPDATE: An organizational meeting will be held on Oct. 5, 2021 at 3:00 pm in the church basement. The goal of the meeting will be to see how much interest there is and what will be most helpful to the group. Please contact Cindy Powlus if you are interested. or 570-594-1433.

Youth Fellowship Time

We have begun our Youth Fellowship time.  It is so great to see everyone again and share in God’s Word.  The first two weeks have gone will with our new time change and it has been exciting to actually be a part of the church service.  We will continue to use the Lectionary Lessons as our teachings to coincide with the worship time. Thank you for all who have participated and the families for allowing us to spend time with your children.

Reminder:  We meet in the basement at 9:00 am and at this time we are usually finished around 9:45 am and your children can be picked up in the gathering area at the new 5th Street entrance door.

Blood Drive News: Oct. 20th from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Our congregation is serving the community as the local host for American Red Cross blood drives. The first drive resulted in the receipt of 21 pints of blood from 24 presenting donors. This was an outstanding result for a first drive! Many blood donors like to donate regularly. Individuals may donate every 56 days are we are providing the site and opportunity for that to happen. The next blood drive is set for Oct. 20th 12:00 pm – 6:oo pm. Thank you for your support in donating and publicizing the blood drives as we continue to serve the community.
